My trusty Passnet card. You pay 5,000 yen (about $49) and use it to access all subways in Tokyo. As you use it, the ticket-taking machine punches out little holes to show you how much you have left on the card. The exact amount shows up on a little LCD screen on the turnstile. The holes show that this one is all used up.
