April 2 - Edo-Tokyo Museum, Nippon Budokan Hall
An example of one of my pet projects on this trip - the mini-car. In the early 1960s, there was an effort to create a "people's car" that would mobilize the general public. Most were powered by motorcycle engines (and small ones at that), mated to tiny cars that seated four, and that's about it. The engine's in the back.
This one is a Subaru 360. In case you noticed the drooping wheels, it's not because the suspension's broken - there's really that much travel, and the car is up on jackstands.
A bit of useless additional info: In Japan, the seat of honor is in back, behind the driver. Next is in the back, on the left-hand side (they drive on the left here, so the driver's seat is on the right). Bottom of the totem pole is shotgun.
